What is the Gancho?

The gancho (Spanish for "hook") is a defensive overhead used when the ball gets behind you. It's hit with a hooking motion, similar to a bandeja but higher on the racket face and without spin.

When to Hit the Gancho

When a lob goes over your head and you need to play the ball from behind your body position.

How to Hit the Gancho
